WHO WE ARE

The Dozen ABA is a small behavioral service provider in Tacoma, WA and surrounding areas. Dr. Deric Toney created The Dozen to provide the close support for families they deserve to help their child improve in the areas they need. Being a small practice, we have the ability to devote our full attention to every detail of the learner's experience so they not only learn the skills they need, but have a blast at the same time!

We strive to be a provider for which those who are passionate about helping others can be a part so they can be supported, heard, and respected. Our team is a small group that treats each other like family. We always help each other, collaborate, and learn from each other so all of us can produce the best outcomes for our learners and ourselves.

OUR team

The Dozen ABA's team is composed of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).  We provide the same level of care for our members as our learners. Each member of our team is trained thoroughly and continuously to be their absolute best. We believe that each person has their individual skill set and passions. Instead of trying to make everyone the same, we learn each person's strengths so we can push them to be reach their personal goals. We listen to our team members and believe that we con always learn from others, as long as we listen.

Registered Behavior Technicians

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) have the most important job! They provide daily, direct services for our learners. To be the most effective, RBTs should be energetic, creative, and caring. Their primary role is to create fun and supportive experiences for the learner while teaching them the skills that will benefit their lives. They carry out plans created by the BCBA for the learner but are encouraged to do this with their own touch and creative style.

Registered Behavior Technicians are required to complete extensive training prior to working with learners and receive consistent and ongoing training and collaboration with the BCBA and the other members of our team. To learn more about the RBT credential and role, please visit the Behavior Analyst Certification Board here.

We are always looking for RBTs who have a strong skillset, good experience, and a passion for helping others. If you are interested in joining The Dozen as an RBT, click below:

Board Certified Behavior Analysts

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are the backbone of our team. They create the plans for our learners that the RBT brings to life. They are responsible for continuously modifying our learner's treatment and care. BCBAs guide the RBT in not just programs, but the ways in which they engage the learner to the highest degree possible.

The Dozen ABA maintains exceptionally high standards for BCBAs. The types of qualities necessary to be a BCBA with The Dozen ABA are:

  • Creative, caring, and curious to always learn more

  • Substantial knowledge in the general field of Behavior Analysis

  • The ability to collaborate and problem solve

  • The ability to effectively train others, including parents and RBTs, while looking at the whole picture

  • Strong background in the science of learning and verbal behavior

BCBAs are required to possess at least a Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, three years of experience helping individuals, and to have passed the Board examination and requirements. To learn more about the BCBA credential and responsibilities, please visit the Behavior Analyst Certification Board here.

We are always excited to meet with BCBAs to learn more about them and their passions! If you are interested in joining The Dozen ABA as a BCBA, click the link below!
